The word “human” has never been more difficult to define. But seriously, men can’t seem to agree on what makes a man a man. Are you mowing the lawn? Do you want to replace the carburetor? Do you take shots at Bambi for sport?
It turns out that many activities associated with masculinity are not even that popular among most men. Let’s take a look at some of the typically “manly” things that men don’t actually enjoy.
1. Lawn care
It turns out that millions (shall we say billions?) of men are perfectly content to never sit on the neon yellow leather of a John Deere lawn mower. The smell of freshly cut grass has no effect on them at all.
2. Home renovation
Many people keep their handyman on speed dial.their love home repair It starts with Tim Allen and ends with Tim Allen.
3. Hunting
I’m sure bagging that 5 point money was a game changer as you claim. I will take your word for it.
Most people who go “hunting” also “wait,” “lay in the mud,” and “see nothing for seven hours straight.” It was fun. Let’s not do it again.
4. Car
Changing oil. Replacing tires. We’re swapping dice hanging from the rearview mirror. You can keep it all.
Many guys aren’t interested in cars beyond basic questions like “Does it run?” “What does it smell like?” Car enthusiasts are at the pinnacle of masculinity, but most men want to drive.
5. Gentlemen’s Club
Well, ladies and gentlemen, where are you gentlemen? Being a man may be difficult to define, but being a gentleman is not. Patrons of gentlemen’s clubs do not fit that criteria at all.
6. Fishing
Fishing is too often similar to hunting. Often there’s nothing wrong with it, and a few cold beers will make you feel a little better, but without good company, the consequences can be disastrous.
7. Watching sports
Without getting into the “sportsball” cliché, the truth is that most men don’t have time to watch sports on TV. Going to a game can be an exciting way to spend your time, especially if you’re on a date. But in the grand scheme of things, are you willing to sit and spend hours watching grown men play a game that has absolutely no bearing on your life? If that seems strange, you’re not alone.
8. Golf
Well, the fun part of golf is the alcohol. If you don’t “love” golf, you’re probably overthinking it. Crack and hack another Coors Light.
9. Fantasy Sports
Just like watching sports, some people find the job of managing a roster of athletes completely unappealing. Come on guys, you’re like the general manager of your team! Can’t you tell? One person’s fantasy is another person’s nightmare.
10. Picking up chicks
Picking up chicks, perhaps the most traditionally masculine act, isn’t suitable for all men. Each on their own.
11. Gun
For obvious reasons, not everyone is excited about firearms. Even if you love hunting, firing at a target isn’t always fun.
12. Whip each other with rolled up towels
Wait, don’t others enjoy it? News to me.
