kuala lumpur: Berjaya Land Berhad (BLand) has appointed Datuk Captain Chester Boo as CEO of Group Aviation, effective February 2, 2023.
Chester Boo will oversee the Berjaya family of airlines, namely Berjaya Air, AsiaJet and Rafflesia Airways.
Commenting on the appointment, Tan Sri Vincent Tan, Founder and Chairman of Berjaya Corporation Berhad (BCorp) said: With his wealth of experience and insight, we are confident that the Group’s aviation business will successfully expand and grow under Captain Chester Boo. ”

Chester Boo is a 29-year veteran of the aviation industry. Prior to his appointment, from June 2020 he served as CEO of the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) until December 2022, leading the aviation safety regulator through the Covid-19 crisis and receiving a Category 1 Award from the United States Federal Aviation Administration. He started his illustrious career as a pilot with Malaysia Airlines in 1993. He then joined AirAsia in 2008, where he was heavily involved in flight operations before joining CAAM.
