The real-life inspiration behind the character of Martha in Baby Reindeer could sue Netflix. In her latest interview with Piers Morgan, she said her real-life stalker Richard Gadd is a liar. She is an active attorney and represents herself in her legal proceedings, she said.
British black comedy Baby Reindeer could soon cause legal problems for Netflix. This hit his miniseries was inspired by the real life of Richard Gadd. It features a man who is stalked to the point where he feels harassed by a woman.
The woman who is said to have inspired the role of the stalker recently opened up in an interview. While speaking to Piers Morgan, she threatened to sue OTT giant Netflix and Richard Gadd.
Fiona Harvey, who works as a lawyer, is portrayed as a mentally ill and lonely woman. The character Martha is obsessed with Gad and she sends him over 41,000 emails. She also allegedly harassed his parents.
Now, Harvey thinks he can beat Netflix in court. She also trolled the actress who played Martha in “Baby Reindeer.” Fiona said,
We are filing a complaint against Netflix because this is being promoted as part of a true story.
I’m a very talented lawyer. You have to do it yourself. I’m very good. I have a photographic memory and can memorize huge files. I was at the top of everything at school. People will probably say I’m a mass murderer. This cannot continue. I’ll kick their butts.
Meanwhile, Fiona Harvey also called Gad a liar and a misogynist. Gadd said in the series that Martha sent him 41,000 emails, 350 voicemails, 744 tweets, 48 Facebook messages, and 106 letters. Ms. Harvey said she had never done anything that psychotic.
The lawyer revealed that he had only met Gadd a few times. She also shared a message for Gad in an interview with Piers Morgan.
