Here are the top performers from Tuesday’s Arizona Fall League.
Blue Jays: Damiano Parmegiani, 3B (No. 18), Surprise Saguaros
Dathan Brown, OF (No. 29), Surprise Saguaros
Parmegiani had a surprise night with four RBIs and started the game with an RBI double in the bottom of the third inning. The 23-year-old hit his first triple of the fall league, extending the Saguaros’ lead late in the game. The infielder currently ranks third on the team with 14 RBIs and has a slugging average of .534 in the desert.
Brown hit a big fly ball to center field in the second inning, and had three hits, including his first home run of the fall league. The 22-year-old continued his strong season in the fall league with a single and a run scored in his final two at-bats. The 2019 third-round pitcher had six extra-base hits in 47 at-bats and had a batting average of .319/.389/.511. more “
Braves: Keshawn Organs, SS (unranked), Salt River Rafters
Organs hit a home run on a three-hit, three-RBI night and helped set the pace for the Rafters’ offense. It marked his third three-hit performance this fall, raising his batting average to .320 and OPS to .830. Organs had three extra-base hits, 12 points, and seven points in 13 games.
Cubs: Kevin Alcantara, OF (CHC 4th/MLB 71st), Mesa Solar Sox
After a three-RBI performance on Monday, Alcantara continued to heat up the bat with a three-for-four performance. The 21-year-old definitely got off to a good start by hitting his fourth home run of the fall league in the first inning. The 6-foot-6 slugger is tied for third place in the fall league with Brewers prospect Wes Clark. Alcantara continued his night with a single in the bottom of the third inning and a single in the eighth. This fall, he’s hitting .246/.343/.509. more “
Pirates: Carter Binns, C (unranked), Salt River Rafters.
Binns may be a glove-first catcher, but his bat turned red in the desert. The 25-year-old hit his first home run of fall camp on Oct. 10, and he hasn’t slowed down since. He recorded his third multi-hit game in seven games and his second three-hit game. Vince got into action early, hitting an RBI single in the first frame and a double in his next at-bat. In limited appearances, the Fresno State product posted a .357 BA and he posted a 1.079 OPS.
Reds: Jacob Hartubiz, OF (unranked), Surprise Saguaros.
Hartubise drove in three runs to lead the Surprise to victory. The 2019 39th-round pick got his groove going with a run-scoring single in the sixth inning. He had a big day for the Saguaros in his next at-bat, hitting a game-tying two-RBI double in the eighth inning that set up the eventual winning run. Hartubise is coming off a season in which he posted a .961 OPS between Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Louisville.
Rockies: Starlin Thompson, OF (6th), Salt River Rafters
Thompson’s 55-grade hit tool was on full display this fall. The 22-year-old had three more hits in his first four innings, adding to his already impressive performance. Thompson added another RBI in the 9th inning with a sacrifice fly. The 2022 first-round pick has been on a roll since the start of fall league play, recording hits in 12 of 14 games, including multiple hits in six of those games.
Tigers: Justice Bigby, OF (No. 21) Salt River Rafters
In a game that saw 33 hits between the two teams, Bigby was the only batter to record four knocks, marking his fourth multi-hit game this fall. This performance was Bigby’s strongest of the season, as his scoring average increased by a whopping 57 points, from .256 to .313. The outfielder used the entire field, hitting two singles to center field, one to the left side, and one to the right. The 24-year-old moved up from High-A to Triple-A in 2023, posting a combined .943 OPS across all three levels.
