A man is raising the alarm after noticing a pungent odor coming from a pack of Oh Snap! Cranberry Sweeties he recently purchased.
TikTok user @dreamtwist posted a video on Sunday showing off a packet of cranberries, which has already garnered more than 19,000 views. “I don’t know if anybody else has had these, but they’re packets of cranberries in single-serving containers,” he says at the start of the video. “I found these at a gas station, and I was like, ‘Wow, this is amazing.'”
But when he got home and tried the cranberry, things only got worse. “I got home and opened it and it had a really weird smell,” he says. “I did some research and had a bottle. It’s high in alcohol. It’s true. Ugh. It’s just advertising. If you see this cranberry in the store, think twice.”
He continues to sniff the product. “I can’t stop smelling it. It smells like prison wine,” he says. “And by the way, there were no holes in it. It was just untouched. Are they supposed to spoil right out of the bag? I’d like to try it again on camera to see how I react, but I’m scared of botulism.”

In the comments section, users speculated about how cranberries could have been transformed into instant alcohol.
“That’s… fermented,” one user suggested.
A second user asked: “Was it refrigerated? What is the expiration date? Fruit and fruit juice will naturally ferment, especially if not kept refrigerated, as should fruit and fruit juice and pickles.”
A third user said: “I eat this all the time and I have to keep it in my cooler.”
What does it say on the package?
Depending on the product explanationCranberry Sweeties are made with cranberries, water, apple juice concentrate, pear juice concentrate, natural flavors, and sodium benzoate (to maintain freshness). Specifically, it says to “keep refrigerated to maintain freshness.”
Of course, many staple foods fermentationBut this is quite different to spoilage, which, as a TikTok user suggested, can lead to food poisoning.
