In the UAE it is illegal to drive without a valid driving license. All residents wishing to drive a motor vehicle are required to hold a valid UAE driver’s license. A UAE driver’s license serves as your official identity document in the country. It contains sensitive personal information such as your name, photo, date of birth and Emirates ID number.

A UAE driver’s license is recognized in many countries around the world, so it’s useful if you’re planning to travel abroad or stay temporarily. Some countries also offer the option of exchanging a UAE driver’s license for a local driver’s license without taking a full driving test.
Here is a general overview of how to apply for a driver’s license online in the UAE.

Log in to your RTA account using the credentials you created.
Select a service:
Go to the section related to your driver’s license or service. Next, apply for a new driver’s license.
