Apple has officially unveiled the 6.1-inch iPhone 16 and 6.7-inch iPhone 16 Plus, introducing a key new feature: camera controls on the side of the devices. Located below the power button, these camera controls let users manage different functions within the camera app with press or swipe gestures.

Other features include the Action Button, which was first introduced on iPhone 15 Pro models last year, enhanced screen brightness and durability, and the A18 chip with a 16-core Neural Engine for up to two times faster speeds. The device comes in a colorful glass-back design featuring ultramarine, teal, pink, white and black finishes.

According to Apple, the A18 chip offers up to 30% improved CPU performance compared to the A16 Bionic chip found in the previous-generation iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
Additionally, Apple Intelligence is now integrated into both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, meaning that AI-generated features previously limited to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are now available across the entire iPhone 16 series.
Apple will open preorders for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus on Friday, September 13, with shipments set to begin a week later on September 20. The iPhone 16 will have a starting price of $799, while the iPhone 16 Plus will have a starting price of $899.
