Angelina Jolie changed her look with curly hair for the 2024 AFI Fest “Maria” premiere on Saturday and spoke with “Extra’s” Terry Seymour.
She looked so charming!
Terry said of Jolie’s performance in Pablo Larraín’s biopic about opera icon Maria Callas, “You’ve faced many challenges in your life, but learning to sing opera… I’m sure it must have been terrifying.”
“That was definitely the hardest part and the most artistically challenging,” Angelina said.
She added, “What an extraordinary challenge and what a gift to have teachers and directors who believe in me and encourage me, to sing these arias and listen to this woman sing.” he added.
She said combining crow and art in any way puts herself in a bind, calling it “really a gift.”
When asked about the turmoil between Callas and Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis, Jolie replied: She was working and was very, very young. A lot of people have to work hard, but when someone comes into your life and says, “I want to have fun with you, I want you to relax, I care about you, I love you.” When I think about it, I think about that short period of time. She felt a kind of support and freedom at its best. ”

She said her sons were a big help as it was a “very heavy role”. “Well, I was very lucky because my sons were there. When I had an emotional scene, they brought me tea and gave me a hug.”
She continued, “The blessing of being an artist is that we all get to express so much that we hold inside of us. We all have pain, but I don’t have the space to let it all out.” There is a gift of having support and a safe space. I wish that for everyone — that they can be supported… that they can just scream and scream… so. I always went home feeling pretty light and went back to work the next day.”
Terry asked if Angelina could empathize with Maria, to which Angelina replied, “I empathize with the fact that she’s a very hard worker and is alone a lot.”
She laughed and quickly clarified, “It’s a sad outcome. That’s not what I meant.”
“Maria” will be released in select theaters in November and on Netflix on December 11th.
