Angela Hill continues to be one of the most combat-tested and lasting straws in UFC history. The 40-year-old veteran, currently ranked 13th in the category, holds a professional record 17-14makes her one of the most experienced female fighters in the history of UFC Strawweights. As she prepares to face Ketren Sousa at UFC Vegas 102, Hill embraces both her experience and the lessons she learned along the way.

“I have a lot of pride in it, and it’s easy to forget just because I haven’t achieved what I want to achieve yet, not where I want to beHill admitted in conversation. ufc.com. “It was a rude awakening because I thought I would be a champion if I entered the UFC in one fight.. ”
Over the years, Hill has gained a reputation as one of the toughest outs in the division, but annoyingly close decisions have prevented her from climbing to the top of the rankings. “I wanted a rematch with Yan Xiaonan, but this is another battle I think I won.Hill said. “My career is undermined by all these close decisions, or by obvious decisions that somehow went in the opposite direction towards the point where it became memeable.. ”
She knows the key to avoiding fate ending the battle, but it’s easier than that. “It would be great if you could take it out of the judge’s hand, but at the same time, I am one of the little straws. Getting these knockouts is hard to get, so I’m focusing more on grappling these days.”

As one of the division’s most active fighters, Hill has raised questions about her retirement, but for now she is still motivated and enjoying the grind. “I sparred this young man who’s in the UFC and said, “Hmm, I don’t know if I’m hanging or not,” and when the second round comes, I’m like m, “Oh, Good luck!” I can’t compete, so that doesn’t mean I’m too old or have to hang up. I think performance will tell you if it’s time to hang it up.”
Her next test comes against a dangerous but relatively unproven Ketren Sousa. “We don’t know much because she’s just entered the UFC. I think she was beaten when she matched Yazmin and although she managed to land a good shot, I think Yazmin had done a good job with her until that moment. Masu. ”

Despite Sousa’s power, Hill believes her experience will be different. “I feel like I match her well and I would be able to use my veteran wil against her. I think there are a lot of skills that come with her, but you have to get tight.”
With the victory of the statement, Hill hopes to stand up to a quick turnaround. “She has a bit of green so I think this is someone I can potentially finish because she has a new UFC. If I can get it, it gives me a better chance to get that fast turnaround. I really want to get that finish.”
Hill faces Sousa UFC Vegas 102 This Saturday, February 15thin a straw weight match that proves crucial for both fighters. The event will be aired live ESPN+ from 4pm.
