Andy Cohen talks new ‘Real Housewives of New York’ and ’emotional’ ‘Pump Rules’ 11th season
The ‘Real Housewives of New York City’ are back in a new form! An all-new group of women living their best lives in the Big Apple are joining the reboot of hit reality show ‘Bravo’ and will be hosting a premiere party on Wednesday. Andy Cohen said it all in “Extras.”
Of the decision to revive “RHONY,” Cohen said, “It’s time to do something new, exciting, fresh, diverse, fashionable and interesting.”
“The beauty of New York is that there are millions of stories to tell here. I thought it would be a show like that.”
The “New York” reboot will feature an Indian cast for the first time in the “Housewives” series.
“Diversity is great and outdated,” Andy told Extra. See, New York is a melting pot, and I think this show is a melting pot. And I find it really inspiring to hear people’s backstories. ”
The “Watch What Happens Live” host also responded to “Vanderpump Rules”‘s first Emmy nomination, while also encouraging fans to watch “Housewives.”
“So excited for them! Great.”
“And Emmy voters, housewives, have you heard of it? Think about it.”
Andy teased the new season of VPR, saying, “I can tell you it’s going to be very emotional and raw.”
Cohen also sent some good thoughts to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards amid rumors of a split from her husband of 27 years, Mauricio Umanski.
“I can’t speak for her, but I know we are all thinking of her.”
