Amazon is convenient, but such a quick service is often subject to errors. But according to TikToker Diane Smith, the company has completely lost its mind.
“OK, do you want to hear something stupid?” she asked in the clip, which has just under 10,000 views. “We ordered 12 folding wooden chairs and other items for an event we were hosting last Thursday. That meant they arrived on Wednesday, giving us plenty of time to get everything ready for Thursday.”
She further explained that when she arrived at the venue on Wednesday, there was a shortage of four chairs, so only eight chairs in total could be delivered.
“It looks like there’s a code to get into the building. There’s nothing sketchy about this,” she added. “Just remember that.”
Diane said that when she checked her Amazon account, all of the chairs were marked as delivered. But Amazon told her to wait until Thursday, the deadline for all her items to be delivered.
“By Thursday, the chairs still hadn’t arrived. So I called Amazon again and they said, ‘The third set of chairs hasn’t been delivered,'” she said. ” [T]And they say, ‘Okay, so someone stole your product and you need to call the police. It will be considered theft and will need to be dealt with by the police.” ”
Diane was stunned by this.
“First of all, no one is going to steal my four wooden chairs, which are literally super cheap,” she said. “I mean, if I lose this, I’m going to lose $200, but I don’t think anyone saw that box and thought, ‘Oh, there’s a chair in there.'” I’ll steal it. ”

“So,” she continued. “I just called the police. And I’m thinking, ‘They’re going to laugh at me and say, ‘Is this kid serious?’ So I don’t know what will happen. But at this point, I have to find these chairs and file a police report to find out why they are missing, and until the police can help me if there is something wrong, Amazon will help me. I won’t give it to you. This is very strange. ”
In the comments section, viewers suggested solutions such as getting a refund through the app or using a photo of the delivery to prove the item was lost, but none of them seemed to work.
“The problem is with the app, it says all three have been delivered, but see if saying this hasn’t been delivered doesn’t help,” Diane added in a comment.
Diane and Amazon did not immediately respond to Daily Dot’s emailed requests for comment.
