“Selling Sunset” star Amanza Smith sat down with “Extra’s” Melvin Robert to talk about the recent health crisis and the upcoming seventh season of “Selling Sunset.”
Amanza revealed how she was hospitalized for 31 days after developing a serious blood infection that causes osteomyelitis, requiring two major spinal surgeries and a blood transfusion.
Before being admitted to the hospital, Amanza had been suffering from lower back pain, which had “quickly worsened” to the point where she was “unable to walk”.
One of her friends advised her to go to the hospital. She said:[Doctors] I was told that if I had waited another day or two, I might not have been here to talk about this. ”
Mr Smith said he was “grateful” to be alive. It’s like processing everything. ”
Regarding his current health status, he said, “I’m still recovering. It’s slower than before. Everything hurts. I’m still on a lot of medication.”
Amanza stressed the importance of getting “tested” if you’re dealing with pain, saying, “You never know what’s going to happen.”
Amanza said she wants to use her platform “for the greater good” after she survives. She said, “I feel like I’ve been given a second chance at life. It would be a shame if I wasted it.”
Since the traumatic experience, she has maintained a “positive” outlook on life and has also reconciled with her “Selling Sunset” co-star Chrishell Stause. She said: “This drama really helped me understand all the little nonsense that sometimes gets caught up in the nonsense drama “Selling the Sunset”… When I was in the hospital, she contacted me. It meant a lot.”
She said, “If you’ve had any drama in the past, if there’s been any drama to cancel it out, make sure you know that you love yourself, because life is so short and unexpected… “This is because,” he emphasized.
Amanza said she was “delighted” to have Chrishell as a friend again, adding, “It feels like no time has passed and we’re both moving in a very positive direction, so I’m grateful for that.” I am doing it,” he added.
Smith also touched on what to expect when Selling Sunset returns to Netflix on Nov. 3, saying, “We’re going to Cabo…more great real estate…this season. I think I’ve found my voice.”
