‘All My Children’ star Colin Egglesfield is battling cancer again.
Earlier this week, Egglesfield revealed that his prostate cancer had undergone surgery after it was caught “early.”
he wrote Instagram“The start of this year hasn’t been the easiest…it’s important to know that you’re not alone in whatever this is you’re facing, and that it’s important to be yourself and your health, seek information, and advocate for your health.” This is a reminder to everyone to ask for help when you need it.”
He decided to be “proactive” and have the procedure happen after “a year of doing a lot of research and talking to quite a few medical professionals.”
On Thursday, Colin provided an update on his health following surgery. He writes: With an amazing peek at @CityOfHope Hospital and the amazing @CityOfHopeCancerfighters team, things are going well and I’m feeling the positives. ”
While he remains positive, Egglesfield sometimes struggles with his emotions.
He said, “I go through these phases where I feel good, and then I go through other phases where this is all overwhelming. This emotion that is a combination of gratitude, fear, hope, frustration, anger, and stupidity.” It’s hard to explain. Some moments I feel it’s all good and I’m able to move forward, others I don’t know what’s going on and I’m Unable to understand how to integrate new realities into life.”
Colin emphasized the importance of “slowing down,” “getting away from it,” and “finding the space to voice what’s really swirling in the background.”
He explained: When you feel like there’s too much without feeling like there’s something “wrong” that needs to be fixed. ”
In 2006, Colin was diagnosed with testicular cancer. According to Parade, he opted for surgery to remove the cancer, but it spread to other testicles.
Five years ago, Egglesfield recalled his cancer diagnosis and spoke Jaejoong magazine“It was the most uncertain, anxious, frightening time of my life. I was diagnosed at age 33, underwent surgery, radiation treatment, and had tests every three months after that for a year. At that point, we discovered another tumor. For five years after that second surgery, I had to undergo constant tests, including chest X-rays, blood tests, and CT scans.
He said: “I always say I don’t wish cancer on anyone, but I’m grateful for this experience because it requires me to develop character, courage, perseverance, and hope on a whole new level. It also helped me understand the world… That I wasn’t accomplishing what I set out to do and that if I accomplished it through experience that I wouldn’t let experience stop me from accomplishing what I was committed to, it would continue. It made me realize that I wanted to build a successful acting career and make a huge positive impact in the world.”
