The cause of the closure was a fallen tree and power lines. The road will be closed indefinitely.
SPOKANE, Wash. — All lanes of the Spokane Mountain Expressway are closed in both directions between Madison Road and the end of the highway due to more than a dozen downed trees.
WSDOT crews are waiting until sunrise to safely assess the situation.
The road closure will remain in place until further notice, according to Spokane Area Traffic. Motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
