Alexander Skarsgård is cooking in his new action comedy series, “Murderbot.” He not only wants to slap the space soap opera to secretly acquire free will and leave it hidden, but also joins a mission to protect scientists on dangerous planets.
Mona Kosar Abdi from “Extra” spoke with Alexander about being attracted to his idiosyncratic and strange characters.
Skarsgård was “really excited” to take on the role of Murderbot.
He said, “It was fun to see what it would turn out… it was fun to explore humanity in its own right.”
Alexander also admitted that it is easy to rely on the murder bot’s feelings of being “socially uncomfortable” around humans.
He said that when introduced to a person “completely different” to the usual clients whose murders are asked to protect, “it wasn’t difficult to play these scenes first.”
“[Humans] It’s essentially a space hippie. They are very inclusive, they want to hug them, and they also want to invite murder bots to their team as members, and the killers are scared and confused by it,” added Skarsgård.
Given all his recent talks on setting up a show in space and space travel, did Alexander want to go to space?
He replied, “Yes, I’ll go… I think it’s a pretty incredible experience to see it looking up at the earth.”
“MurderBot” will premiere on AppletV+ on May 16th.
