On Monday 17 July 2023, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Saudi Pro League side Al Nasr suffered a crushing 5-0 defeat against Celta Vigo.
Al Nasr and captain Cristiano Ronaldo have faced major setbacks in their latest pre-season game for the 2023-24 season.
It was Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasr’s third preparatory match and the first for Cristiano Ronaldo, and things took an unexpected turn as they suffered a crushing defeat.

Fans of Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo were thrilled to see the star return after missing two pre-season matches. He reportedly played just 45 minutes in the first game of the pre-season match against Celta Vigo.

Al Nasr’s new signing Marcelo Brozovic, meanwhile, reportedly played 54 minutes on the pitch.
Al Nasr had a decent game, drawing 0 in the first half against Celta Vigo. However, the situation changed completely in the second half, and they lost 0-5. Goals from Gael Alonso, Miguel Rodriguez and Jorgen Strand Larsen for the Spanish team brought down Riyadh-based club Al Nasr.

Saudi Pro League side Al Nasr recently appointed Luis Castro as its new head coach. The Portuguese coach has many difficult tasks ahead of him, including pre-season matches and matches against European powerhouses PSG, Benfica and 2022 Champions League finalists Inter Milan.
