Airbnb seems to regularly face problems with shady hosts, but once again another user of the real estate rental platform has accused a host of fraudulent behavior on social media.
In a viral TikTok video with over 522,000 views, user Aceyaa (@_aceyaa) says she was wrongly accused of vandalizing the place after her stay. She also said Airbnb sided with the accuser and charged exorbitant fees.

“I was scammed out of $2,300 by an Airbnb host. I’m officially done with Airbnb,” the woman explains in the video.
Then she begins “story time.” Apparently, the woman and her sister each rented an Airbnb so her family and friends could stay during their visit to Toronto. When they checked in, everything was great and the hosts were kind and cooperative. Things went so well that she even said she requested an extension of the checkout time and paid extra.
After that, things quickly deteriorated.
First, the Airbnb host made a request, which Aceyaa thought was a little strange. He told her to start doing her laundry for her cleaner who was supposed to clean up after her stay.
“No, that’s none of my business,” the woman reportedly replied. “There’s a reason we paid the cleaning fee.”
Still, Aseya said she made sure to clean the space and went the extra mile, mopping, taking out trash and removing bed sheets before leaving. She advised her sister to do the same. But she says she made a mistake by forgetting to take a photo of the rental before leaving.
“That’s where I failed,” she admitted.
The host then accused the woman of breaking furniture in the house, smoking and making a mess in the kitchen. “I’m very confused,” she says of her own reaction to the accusations.
But to make matters worse, Airbnb sided with the hosts, leaving Aceyaa with a ridiculous bill. However, her sister took her photo during the same stay and received great reviews.
“I was scammed out of $2,300 and I will never use Airbnb again,” she concluded.
At the end of the video, she advises people to always take a photo before leaving their Airbnb.
In the comments section, many people sympathized with the woman.
One user commented: “This is a sad situation but a lesson for many.”
“I hate Airbnb,” said another. “Pay the cleaning fee and request cleaning. Who wants their last memories cleaned??”
Others have reported similar experiences.
“This is why we stopped using Airbnb,” someone wrote. “I refuse to clean my house and pay the cleaning fee. Also, you are right about the photos, but [too] It’s very troublesome for me. ”
