The highly anticipated ‘Star Wars: Ahsoka’ series has finally set a release date for it. Ahsoka will premiere on Disney+ worldwide on August 23rd. Disney has released two trailers so far, along with revealing the cast and directing team.
Dave Filoni, who originally created the Ahsoka Tano character in The Clone Wars, wrote all episodes of the new series. Sources say he’s also directing certain episodes. Other members of the directing team are Peter Ramsey, Steph Green, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Patel and Rick Famuyiwa.
“Star Wars: Ahsoka” is set in the same timeline as “The Mandalorian” with reference to the first part. The Ahsoka character first appeared in the comic strip Clone Wars and later in Star Wars: Rebels. The character first appeared in live action in Season 2 of The Mandalorian and Season 1 of The Book of Boba Fett.

The new series will feature many Rebel characters. Some of these characters will be appearing in live action for the first time. Rosario Dawson plays Ahsoka. Lars Mikkelsen will bring the series villain Grand Admiral Thrawn to life. Starring Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winsteadm as Hera Syndulla, and Eman Esfandi as Exla Bridger.
Other notable cast members are David Tennant, Diana Lee Innosanto, and the late Ray Stevenson, who passed away last month. Overall, the upcoming Star Wars series is going to be all the rage with an explosive cast.
