A$AP Rocky’s legal team was back in court Wednesday in A$AP Rocky’s felony assault case.
Two years ago, A$AP pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault with a semi-automatic weapon for allegedly shooting and killing his former friend A$AP Leli during an argument in 2021.
Despite rumors that a plea is in the works, the rapper’s attorney Joe Tacopina told “Extra” that there is no agreement.
He insisted that “no agreement has ever been reached and no agreement has been discussed.”
Video of the incident was frequently shown in court, and a man, whom prosecutors say was Rocky, was seen holding a gun, and then shots were heard.
Asked what role the video would play in the trial, Tacopino said, “It’s just like any other piece of evidence.” He elaborated, “It would be evidence with some context.”
“We are ready,” he said confidently, adding: It’s been over 2 years. Obviously, that’s weighing heavily on Rocky and Rihanna and their family. We are eager to get started and support him and them. ”
“Rocky is very protective of Rihanna and doesn’t want her anywhere near this lawsuit,” Tacopina said.
Rihanna’s support for A$AP Rocky, her children RZA and Riott, has never wavered.
Last month, she became a mainstay in New York when she was honored at the Footwear Awards for her work as director of Puma.
Rocky’s trial begins next week.
