A Walmart employee shared on the now viral TikTok why he prefers the morning shift to the afternoon shift.
The video was uploaded by TikTok user Alyssa (@alyssaa.vv) posts content about her job as a picker for Walmart’s online grocery pickup division.
The 6-second clip shows shelves lined with products like cat food, laundry detergent, milk, and tea. The caption reads, “The morning shift makes me realize how bad the afternoon shift is.”

The video has been viewed more than 791,000 times since it was posted on January 20th. In the comments, several Walmart employees agreed that the morning shift works best.
“Walmart in the early morning is my favorite,” wrote one viewer.
“Morning dispensing is so peaceful,” said another.
“I love the 5am shift because when you walk in, everything is quiet and everything is there,” added the third.
However, some employees disagreed with Alyssa and shared their experience working the morning shift.
As one viewer said:
“Until everyone calls and by 11am we have 3,000 picks and we have three employees.”
“My store doesn’t stock anything especially chilled in the morning,” said a third.
Other workers noted that everything was stocked for the overnight crew.
“You can thank Zone’s night shift,” one person commented.
“Welcome from the old night shift,” another voice echoed.
