‘Emma’ co-stars Connor Swindells and Amber Anderson are getting married!
The couple wed at a boathouse in the Scottish Highlands.
For their big day, Conor’s Sex Education co-star Alistair Petrie officiated the wedding.
Anderson chose a Vivienne Westwood dress. she said fashion“It may sound cheesy, but I knew it as soon as I tried it on. It accentuated the parts of my body I liked, the parts I didn’t like didn’t bother me so much anymore, and I looked great sitting or standing.” The whole Vivienne Westwood approach appealed to me and that I shouldn’t change anything about myself to follow a certain bridal look.
Connor wore an Atelier Arena suit tailored by Tom Arena. He said:[Tom] Ninety percent of everything I do is dressing me. He flipped me some fabrics, ideally ones that matched my skin tone perfectly, and tended to be pasty. We landed in a great navy. He incorporated Anderson’s tartan details. He is a true maestro and we can’t thank him enough for everything. ”
Amber was walked down the aisle by her godmother in place of her father. She explained: “Unfortunately my dad isn’t feeling too well so we couldn’t do that. She’s the godmother he chose for me so it felt like a great way to have him there.”
The couple’s rescue dog also attended the wedding as a ring bearer.
Regarding the atmosphere they were going for, Amber said, “It was a meaningful wedding atmosphere, but not too serious.”
The couple also took part in a Celtic Quaich ceremony before the drinks reception. She explained: “This originally had something to do with clan meetings. It’s about holding a cup in both hands, and the symbolism is that if you’re both holding a cup, you can’t hold a sword in your hand. Please add some whiskey and drink it.”
“Emma” director Autumn de Wilde also spoke at the drinks reception.
“It meant so much to us to have her speak,” Amber said. “We met because of a movie she made, and over the years, She was our best friend, spiritual guardian, advisor, and adopted aunt. She meant the world to us.”
The two met on “Emma,” but didn’t become romantically involved until the coronavirus pandemic hit in 2020.
She said: “We ended up getting together during the first lockdown. We both live alone and relatively close together, so we decided to bubble together. Through that we really got to know each other. We needed to support each other. The lockdown allowed us to have time with each other that we wouldn’t have had if we were both filming. Our first official date was literally about three years into our relationship. A month later, when everything was open again, I felt like I had turned everything against me in a strange way.”
He eventually popped the question to Amber at a beautiful 1,400-year-old baobab tree in Botswana.
The proposal itself required careful planning. Connor revealed, “We were filming in Italy a few months before we left and that’s when I knew this trip was going to be that moment.” I assigned my best friend Oakley to both collect and transport the ring, and he worked diligently, knowing full well that Amber would sniff out the remnants of the proposal. This was the only way. ”
“Then the difficult task of convincing her to put Amber in the Land Cruiser alone, without anyone else’s knowledge, and drive to a secluded spot ensued. What all happened to her? “It was done without anyone noticing,” Connor elaborated. “Finally Gareth crackled on the radio: ‘Guys, we’ve found some leopard tracks. Let’s go ahead and see where they go. If you need a toilet, this is a safe place. This is the place.” Then I turned the corner and there stood a beautiful baobab. I knew the rest was up to me. ”
