Have you ever been to Chick-fil-A and wished there was an unscripted, family-friendly show based on the chicken sandwich? You’re in luck. According to DeadlineThe fast-food chicken chain is launching its own streaming platform with plans to offer a ton of original programming. In this economy, it seems like everyone needs to diversify, right?
Deadline reports that Chick-fil-A is considering scripted programming, animation and unscripted content, with a “family game show” already in the works, produced by the same production team at NBC. wallApparently, this isn’t the company’s first foray into entertainment: In 2022, Chick-fil-A produced a short animated series called “The Hunger Games.” The Story of Evergreen Hillsa series of Christmassy stories with themes of being kind and spreading joy.
But what kind of TV show combines an ethos of family entertainment with not-so-great food and an overtly Christian and homophobic message? You’re probably as familiar with it as Chick-fil-A, so we’ll give you some ideas.
- Eat Molchikin: A cooking show starring the famous Chick-fil-A cows, showcasing all the great dishes you can make without beef. The show is scheduled to run for four episodes before the cows’ anti-red meat message and guerrilla tactics become too instructive for viewers.
- Chicks and Strips: Imagine Naked Charm meet Newlywed Gamebut it’s a lot more formal. Teams of romantic couples (no gays allowed) must strip off every time they ask the wrong question about each other, but don’t worry: Every inch of the PG-13 rated body (that is, everything from neck to knees) is covered in the chain’s delicious Chicken ‘N Strips. The winner takes home a cash prize and the strips that came with them, which are probably enough for at least three meals.
- American Chicken Warriors: This is parkour through a drive-thru window.
- Spicy Deluxe Love: A Hallmark-style romantic comedy. A big city “career woman” visits her hometown for Christmas, falls in love with a handsome country boy over a banana shake, and returns home to be a stay-at-home mom. Who needs ambition or a source of income when she can’t even get a Christian shake?
- Moo Patrol: Also starring are Chick-fil-A’s cows, who roam the countryside catching chickens with impunity to meet the chain’s expansion targets.
- Give me some pickles!: Like those game shows where you throw pickles from a sandwich at things and get a prize?
- Treasures of Mealtime: The show was born when a company decided to make an entirely AI-generated cooking contest because they didn’t want to pay any more writers. The recipes, the host, the contestants, even the title are all AI! It’s awful. Nothing works and the animation is too creepy for anyone to enjoy. It’s all a flop.
