One worker was not comfortable criticizing the “baby boomer generation” and used his platform to voice serious criticism.
In a viral TikTok, Alec Pritchard (@Alec Pritchard) shared what happened and what he plans to do after calling out an “incompetent” colleague on social media.
“Hey everyone, welcome to ‘Brain Dead Boomers at the Office,'” the TikToker began in the clip.
He also pointed out that older generations of workers often refer to Millennials and Gen Z as: lazy and entitled. But he uses his platform to flip that narrative. He dedicated his own TikTok platform to showing examples of the “extreme laziness and stupidity” of his over-50 employees at work.
“It’s just an effort to show that their labels of our generation as lazy, entitled and worthless are actually a reflection of their own professional incompetence,” he explained.
In various videos, the man cited numerous examples of baby boomers’ “laziness” in the workplace. For example, he criticized the “baby boomer” salespeople he worked with. I don’t know anything about software Or the materials they sell. In another example, Pritchard accused a sales representative. Creating a plan The company didn’t even have the ability to respect that.
Ultimately, this call had a serious impact on workers.
“Well, I got fired,” he said.
Pritchard said she had always imagined there would be repercussions for speaking out against employees at her workplace, but she was surprised to hear why it happened to her.
The man said he worked at Audacy Co., Ltd., wireless networks. He ultimately claimed he was fired “for harassment.”
“It turns out that using your social media in your private time to anonymously post about things and connect with people is harassment,” he said.
He also accused the company of stalking him to investigate his use of the platform.
“On the other hand, baby boomers are not allowed to grope people in the office, make careless comments, yell at people, call people names, or throw their work on their desks without getting paid. “And it’s not harassment,” he lamented.
Still, Pritchard assured viewers he has no plans to stop creating viral content. Instead, he vowed to use his platform to give a voice to other millennials who have complaints about baby boomers.
This type of content seems to be trending on TikTok at the moment. Another employee recently made headlines by sharing her experience dealing with a baby boomer woman who wouldn’t accept help because of her age and gender. Her video was a response to another TikToker’s post complaining about how baby boomers are treated at work.
The Daily Dot reached out to Audacy, Inc. via email and asked Alec Pritchard in the TikTok comments for more information.
