Jenna Ortega “can’t see” herself on screen.
The “Wednesday” actress believes she won’t be able to properly advance her career if she spends too much time focusing on what she doesn’t like about a particular scene, but she doesn’t I’m learning to stay true to myself while working and then “let go.”
In honor of winning the Breakthrough Award at the 2023 Harper’s Bazaar Woman of the Year Awards, she spoke in the December/January issue of UK’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “I know that I won’t be able to see my work.” If you stick to something, you can move forward and continue to grow as an actor.
“A lot of people in my profession can probably relate to this: If I make a take I don’t like, I go to bed kicking myself.
“But at the end of the day, all I can do is be vulnerable and honest when the cameras are on, and then I have to move on and let it go.”
The 21-year-old actress wants to be in charge of her career and is desperate to be able to make “mistakes” so she doesn’t have to worry about things going wrong.
She said, “I want to be able to better align my future and take more concrete and precise actions. I even begged a little to be allowed to fail, because I have to…” How can I learn?” Is it for yourself?
“I’m not afraid of the fact that I might fall on my face. But it’s hard to do that with so many people watching.”
By understanding that she’s not alone in her “natural fear” and that even the most successful people don’t have all the answers, I learned how to keep anxiety at bay.
she said: “What helps me sleep at night is knowing that no matter how successful you are or how hard you work, everyone flies by the seat of their pants. No one knows if it is.
“It’s everyone’s first time doing something. No one is above you. No one is below you.
“We’re all just naturally afraid, so we’re on a level playing field.”
