A senior government official told NBC News that Biden was briefed on the FBI raid this morning ahead of an upcoming event in New Mexico.
“The Secret Service is aware of an FBI investigation into an individual in Utah who has made threats against a protected person,” the U.S. Secret Service, which is responsible for Mr. Biden’s security, said in a statement.
“While we always work closely with our law enforcement partners, this is an FBI-led effort and we refer any related questions to the FBI,” the Secret Service said.
Robertson is said to have threatened Biden by name on Monday, and in a social media post in March threatening to shoot Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg Jr. during a visit to New York.
A felony complaint filed against Robertson in Utah federal district court charges him with intimidating the president, interstate intimidation, and intimidating, obstructing, and retaliation of federal law enforcement officials.
Earlier this year, Bragg was linked to paying porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016 to remain silent about allegations that she had a sexual relationship with Trump 10 years ago. Trump was charged with falsifying business records.
Trump has denied having sex with Daniels and has pleaded not guilty in the case, which is scheduled for trial next year.
