CHARLESTON — West Virginia Secretary of State Mack Warner has sent notices to business owners to file their annual reports by the June 30 legal deadline.
Businesses that miss the June 30 deadline will be flagged for noncompliance in state databases. As required by law, a late filing fee of $50 will be assessed for late filing.
West Virginia has the largest number of registered businesses in state history, so it needs to file more annual reports than ever before.
Nearly 99% of all annual reports are submitted online.
Applying online takes less than 5 minutes using the WV One Stop Business Portal at Business4.WV.gov. Guest filing is available for business owners who do not want to establish an online account.
The annual report filing fee is $25. Warner encourages management to beware of third-party solicitations that charge as high as $375 to file annual reports on behalf of a company.
It does not need to be submitted by a third party.
