Chris Hemsworth returns as Tyler Lack in ‘Extraction 2’
Megan Wright of “Extra” met the star at the New York premiere and said she was happy to be back.
“I loved my experience with the first film, and it was great to get the opportunity based on fan reaction and enthusiasm to make a sequel,” he said.
The story follows a former Australian SAS operator who becomes a mercenary after a near-death experience. Additionally, we see him rescuing another child.
Hemsworth described the film as “like an emotional journey within a character…I think it’s a more satisfying film than its predecessor, and the stunts are even more insane if possible.” was on a train going 50 miles an hour, a helicopter six feet ahead of me flew backwards, the helicopter landed on the moving train, and the men jumped off and into the battlefield.”
When Megyn asked him about his most difficult stunt, he replied: “The most difficult stunt was…he was one continuous shoot that lasted about 20 minutes. The extras were him 400…things were on fire, me on fire, explosions, 5,000 moves.” The choreography… it took months of rehearsals. ”

Chris added, “It was the most risky and intense, but the most rewarding experience I’ve ever had.” He explained that he felt “a sense of euphoria after finishing that sequence” and that “what you get on screen is an authenticity, grit and intensity that you can’t create on a green screen.”
What did he say when the director wanted to set him on fire? “I said, ‘Yes, we are in the Czech Republic.
He said seriously: “There is always a risk…When you have a working relationship with someone you trust, there is no safety team that will ultimately keep you out of harm’s way.”
When Megyn asked him about being in the moment, he replied: Being on a movie set allows you to immerse yourself in the experience from every angle. You should have seen me at school… looking for an exit! ”
Extraction 2 will be released on June 16th.
