I spent roughly 97% of my 46 Valentine’s Days on Earth single. On the one hand, I tend to object to its manufactured nature and the fact that it seems designed to test relationships and make unrelated people feel lonely. He is also a romantic, and despite such a holiday, disturbing originsthere is only one day of the year that we can dedicate to celebrate the magnificent, overwhelming and glorious power of love.
I think the problem is that they limit the focus of Valentine’s Day to just romantic love and traditional (and tired) cis boys and girls, chocolate and roses, and cute and happy clichés. or queuing for a romantic comedy on February 14th is fine, but you can think more broadly. After all, there are different kinds of love that deserve to be recognized and celebrated this Valentine’s Day.
I recommend books that showcase different passions such as food, friendship, and clothes. Whether you’re partnered or not, we hope at least one of these picks speaks to your heart and reminds you that love comes in many wonderful forms.
