How do suction toys work?

If you’re not familiar with the details of clitoral suction toys, they can seem a little mysterious. While vibrators have a built-in motor that creates vibrations just by shaking them, suction toys are a little more complicated.
It works by regulating air pressure with an internal diaphragm. They all have a mouth, and inside that mouth is (usually) a silicone membrane through which an internal motor moves in and out. Pressing your mouth against your body traps air there and prevents it from escaping. The movement of the membrane uses that air to create adjustable high and low pressure. This change in air pressure creates the suction sensation that suction toys are famous for.
