I’m a store manager myself, and by talking to other store managers, I’ve learned what experts consider to be the best “unknown” secrets to shopping and saving.
When you save money on groceries, each savings may not be a huge amount, but add up to money you’d be better off spending elsewhere within your budget. We’ve added bonuses, earnings, and rewards to beat the competition and keep you loyal. increase.
how to save money on groceries
“Unprotected” Secret #1 – Hear it!
We found that many customers were wondering about things, but so many never askManagement has time to answer almost every question, from the most mundane (Do you have a fish special of the week?) to the most interesting (Can you mark this package of meat that expires tomorrow?) and knowledge. You can often get one if you ask for it. Don’t be shy, be polite, be honest, and know who to ask.
“Unprotected” Secret #2 – Using Store Websites and Apps
Check the store’s website or app for special coupons, discounts and promotions. Printable coupons are not necessarily in the weekly published circulars. There are also digital coupons that can be loaded onto the card.
There’s also an FAQ for information about stacking coupons, store and manufacturer coupons, price matching, and store policies. You can also find information about contests and community events.
“Unprotected” Secret #3 – Use Loyalty Cards Every Time
You won’t believe how many shoppers don’t use discount/loyalty cards because they are ‘annoying’, ‘annoying’, or ‘invading privacy’. Are they kidding?
Our invasion of privacy is so invasive these days that grocery habits are probably one of the minor concerns. But if you save more, I will definitely use the card!
Get savings, rewards paid on purchases, special discounts, cashback, and digital coupons. And don’t use the excuse that you don’t care because you’ve only picked up a few items.
“Unprotected” Secret #4 – Clearance
This is my favorite section in all stores. Find out where it’s located, when it’s curtailed, how often, what time of the day it’s divided into produce, bakery, meat, health and beauty sections so you can search and save.
“Unkept” Secret #5 – Get on the List
Sign up for the store email list. Receive exclusive promotions, loyalty rewards updates, promotional rates and other information that will help you with your shopping experience.
“Unprotected” Secret #6 – Know Your Store Policies
If they make a mistake in pricing or calling a sale, will the item be free? Will you issue a credit for using the reusable canvas shopping bag? Will the coupon be doubled or tripled? Are there tiers on reward cards for extra savings? Do you sell discount gift cards? Knowing your policies can help you save money. If you don’t follow your own rules, don’t be afraid to speak up.
Don’t let the simple nature of these so-called “unguarded” secrets fool you. The store yells at you, “Shop here and save!” Just look for a little bit…it helps save money on groceries.
