My family tried to convince me of the legitimacy of the “five second rule.” I don’t mind eating a floor sandwich, but I pass the “five second rule” because it has no real basis.
Unfortunately, society has taught us to believe in many “rules” that are not true. Does swimming after eating automatically make you cramp? No, does human urine cure jellyfish stings? Absolutely not.
Our faith has the same kind of folklore. Not everything the world says about God is true. For example, Jesus believes many statements and ideas that he never spoke.
Starting 2023 full of uncertainty? You are not alone.don’t worry, god got this
Here are some of the worst ones:
1. God is angry with you and wants to ruin your life.
Sometimes we think of God as the cosmic accountant tallying up our sins, growing more angry with every failure.
God wants to bless us and give us a rich life worth living.

god is not mad and you.he is funny almost you! The Bible makes this very clear.
God wants to bless us and give us a rich life worth living.
2. God loves you and accepts you for who you are.
This sentence is the opposite of “God is mad at you”, but it’s still wrong. Yes God loves you Yes, God accepts you for who you are. You don’t have to be perfect to give your heart to God. But he loves you so much that he refuses to leave you alone.
He asks us to confess our sins and repent every day, not just in the moment of salvation. This allows us to maintain our relationship with God and accept His love.
3. Follow your heart.
Musicians and songwriters love this kind of language, using the heart to represent our emotions, desires, or inner guides.

Ezekiel 36:26 says that God gives us new hearts and spirits. that isIt’s how we find the truth.

Jeremiah 17:9 has another message about the heart. (NIV). In other words, if you follow your heart, you will only get lost.
Instead, we should follow God’s will. Ezekiel 36:26 says He gives us new hearts and spirits. that is how to find the truth.
The world is telling you to follow your heart, trust your intuition, and follow your dreams. But God knows the future. His dreams for you may not exactly match yours, but they will be much better.
The bottom line is that God loves you.
4. Learn to love yourself
Loving yourself is not something most of us need to be taught. When Jesus said the second commandment was, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” He assumed that we already know how to love ourselves. Already doing it well.
So Jesus said that anyone who wants to follow Him, “Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me” (Matthew 16:24 NIV).
5. Good people go to heaven
Many people, including Christians I know, follow this line of thinking. But who defines what is good? Tip: Not us.
The Bible teaches that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23, NIV). It means that no matter what “good” you do, you still fall short of the holiness of God.

Jesus reveals that he is surprised that some “good people” are in Hell. Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I didn’t know you. Get away from me, you evildoers!” (Matthew 7:22-23, NIV).
That’s not what you want to hear from Jesus. It is not enough to attend church, do good deeds, or be a good citizen.it’s not enough to know almost God.There is a need know God.
What Jesus Really Said
These are things Jesus never said. “Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28, NIV).

It is a promise on which we can stake our lives. God loves us for who we are, but He wants to change us. God wants to free us from our burdens so that we can spend eternity before Him.
Let’s pay more attention to what Jesus actually said, not what our culture is doing wrong I think He said. If we can do that, our lives will change forever.
