“There are some tell signs out there that tell you what kind of play you can get from them in certain situations,” Peterson said, declining to specify exactly what those telles were. “When we get the pick on Sunday, we’ll talk about it.”
Purdy, who is set to start in his ninth career game, including the playoffs, dismissed comments when asked about Peterson, suggesting he knew what was coming.
“Well, I don’t know what to say about that,” Purdy said. Via NBC Sports Bay Area. “I mean, he’s a good player. Patrick Peterson is a great player. I grew up watching him and everything. I’m obviously from Arizona. He played for the Cardinals and stuff. Yeah, that’s it. It’s the competitive nature of football, so we’ll see.”
Peterson, a 33-year-old eight-time Pro Bowler, joined the Steelers this offseason. He has 34 career interceptions, including five last season with Minnesota. Purdy, on the other hand, has thrown a total of two INTs in eight career starts (plus two interceptions in relief appearances).
