“I was a kindergarten teacher and a parent emailed me to say that I was purposely excluding their child from outside school activities. Apparently, one of my students was having a birthday party and the girl’s parent had given my director an email invitation to send to the class (my director didn’t want teachers to hand out invitations). My director mistyped the email address of one of the mothers and they didn’t know about the party until another parent told them after it had happened. This parent blasted me in an email, CC’d by the director, saying that I must have a problem with my child because I was purposely excluding them and that I was a terrible person for being so cruel to her.”
“My principal wrote back and admitted it was her fault. The parent just said, ‘Oh, I understand,’ and that was the end of it. I never received an apology and the parent continued to avoid me for the entire time their child was in my class.”
