When a child goes missing, authorities require physical characteristics such as height, weight, ethnicity, hair and eye color to search. A photo, name and nickname are also required.
Providing all this information takes time. here, FBI Child ID By storing information about your child in the app, you don’t waste time presenting the information to the authorities in case the worst happens. Information can also be sent to police, security guards, or other authorities looking for missing children.
You can add images from your phone’s library and crop and zoom as needed. The app also includes tips for keeping your child safe and what to do in the first critical hours after your child goes missing.
The FBI says it does not collect or store any photos or information users enter into the app. The data will remain on your phone until you send it to the authorities.
I sincerely hope that you never have to use this app, but if you do, it’s nice to have it set up in advance. Works on iPhone and Android.
Set up a secret communication method
Most children carry their cell phones in their pockets, but there may be situations where children cannot make calls. Even worse, someone might be looking over your shoulder while you’re texting.
Secret Emoji is a great alternative to standard emergency calls and text messages. It is unobtrusive to others and the message gets across quickly.
Choose emojis that you or your family don’t usually use, but don’t choose emojis that are too obscure or hard to find. Exotic animals are great because they don’t show up in everyday conversation, like smiles and hand gestures.
Once you’ve decided on a secret emoji, sit down with the kids and discuss your plans. Include the actions they will take if they ever need to use it. You might decide to call them right away and tell them to go home when they send you an emoji.

The emergency features built into today’s smartphones can do a lot. If your child has a new iPhone or Android, follow the steps below or do it yourself.
When you make a call using Apple’s Emergency SOS feature, your iPhone will call your local emergency number and alert your chosen emergency contact with a text message. Text includes phone location.
Here’s how to make an SOS call on iPhone 8 and later:
- Press and hold the Side button and either volume button. An Emergency SOS slider appears.
- Drag the slider to call emergency services. You can also press and hold the side button and volume button. When the countdown ends, your mobile phone will call emergency services.
(On iPhone 7 and earlier, quickly press the Side or Top button five times to activate the Emergency slider.
Note that using the Emergency SOS feature will send a message to these contacts indicating that there is an emergency.
- open the health app to tap profile picture > Medical ID.
- select editscroll to emergency contact.
- Tap. addition button, then contact.their relationship.
- strike end Confirm your changes.
The Android version of Emergency SOS works similarly, but requires prior setup.
- open the setting mobile phone app.
- Tap safety and emergencies > Emergency SOS.
From here you can customize what happens when you use Emergency SOS. You can sound an alarm or silence it, call an emergency number of your choice, share updates and location with your emergency contacts, record a video, and more.
To access Emergency SOS on your Android phone, quickly press the power button five times.
Samsung phones may have slightly different steps. If the above method does not work, open the settings and Advanced featuresthen tap Send an SOS message. From here you can select your emergency contact.
Here’s how to add emergency contacts on Google Pixel and other versions of Android.
- open the safety app Sign in with your Google account.
- You will be prompted to add an emergency contact. Scroll or search for a contact and tap their name to continue.
- Next, you can add your medical information.Tap end to confirm.
It seems like a lot of work to do, but the safety of your family and the peace of mind it gives you is well worth it.
