March 23 (UPI) — Two employees died this week on a Holland American cruise ship, the cruise line said in a statement.
Two crew members died in an “engineering space accident” while the company’s New Amsterdam ship was in port at Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas. Statement from Holland America read.

Holland America spokesperson told the press The incident reportedly occurred around 9:20 a.m. local time on Friday.
Holland America said it has notified authorities and the incident is currently under investigation.
“Everyone at Holland America Line is deeply saddened by this incident, and our thoughts and prayers are with the team member’s family during this difficult time,” the company said in a statement.
“The safety, security and welfare of all guests and crew members is the company’s absolute priority.”
New Amsterdam is currently underway 7 night Caribbean tourdeparted Fort Lauderdale, Florida on March 16th.
Holland America said it is providing counseling services to employees affected by the incident.
