One of the best things about Italy is how diverse the country is. That means we also have beautiful lakes like Como in the north, great Italian islands to visit, and picturesque cities like Rome, Bologna and Matera.
And that’s before we even get into the topic of gelato.

I know I’m always gushing about Italy, but there’s a good reason for that. It’s gorgeous!
Well, the mainland is great, but Italy’s most beautiful and best islands are also amazing.
From the largest islands in the Mediterranean to Italy’s most attractive tourist destinations, we have some of the best Italian islands that you’ll love.
Take a look at some of Italy’s best islands to visit on your next trip.

Ischia, located in the Gulf of Naples, is a beautiful volcanic island that is very attractive to visit. You can take a boat directly from Naples to the island and explore this wonderful place.

4.) Stromboli
Stromboli, part of the Aeolian Islands, is a beautiful volcanic island. The volcano itself is still active and is best seen by taking a boat trip to Chaladelle Fuoco, and the views at night are spectacular.
If you’re feeling more courageous, you can even climb the volcano. However, this should only be done with a local guide and always listen to expert advice on when and how to climb. Indeed, he is one of the best of the Italian islands, blessed with natural wonders.
5.) Lipari
Lipari is the largest of the Aeolian Islands (just off Sicily) and is definitely one to explore. Lipari is easily accessible (by boat) from Milazzo.
Once you arrive, head to Coral Beach for a quick swim, admire the views of the island at Belvedere Quattrocchi, and visit Lipari Castle.
There are also several hiking trails on the island, which offer great views on clear days. Bring lots of water and plenty of sunscreen.

Caprera Island can be reached by car (via a bridge) from Madelena Island or by privately chartered sailing. I think you’ll like it.
7.) Sardinia

Sardinia is one of the largest islands in the Mediterranean, and it’s a place that takes a little more than a few days to explore.

Let’s be honest, even a week isn’t enough. The island is quite large!
It’s difficult to cram everything in, but there are a few spots that are absolutely must-sees.
