Cabo San Lucas (Cabo to many) is one of Mexico’s most beautiful cities on the Pacific coast. Not only is Cabo a lot of fun, but some of the best things to do in Cabo are scattered throughout the city and far beyond.
Over the years, we’ve explored the best of Tulum and the best experiences in Cancun. We also headed to amazing cities like Mérida. That being said, these are all located on the east coast of Mexico.

One of the things I love about Cabo is the coastline to the west. For example, this is one of the best places to visit in Mexico for whale watching, and it’s a truly incredible place to find on a tour. Not only that, but the entire coastline is very beautiful. If you’re going to the west coast of Mexico, this is a great place to visit.
So, to help you make the most of your time in Cabo, here are some of our favorite spots you shouldn’t miss. This way, you can focus on relaxing and exploring while visiting Cabo.
1.) Playa del Amor (Lovers Beach)
Lovers BeachLocated south of downtown Cabo near Land’s End, is one of Cabo San Lucas’ most popular beaches for its pristine natural beauty.
Well, what I want to say is: Lover’s Beach is quite small and popular with tourists, so expect it to be quite crowded during peak hours. That said, it’s well worth a visit, especially if you’ve already explored the wider area beyond the nearby ports.
Best of all, here you can explore several small beach bays. First, there’s Lover’s Beach. In my opinion, this beach is named after the calm and serene beaches of Cabo.
Second, on the other side, Playa del Divolcio Known for large waves and dangerous waters, it is not suitable for swimming. Hence the name!
You can also take a leisurely hike between the two beaches, but it can be quite dangerous and there are few health and safety rules here. To make things easier, book a short water taxi ride from along the Cabo San Lucas coast. They typically cost around $20-30 USD each.

Whale watching is perhaps the best activity to experience in Mexico, and there’s no better place than the Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California) and Pacific Ocean coastline.
If this sounds interesting, why not visit Cabo San Lucas from December to April (the best time to see whales)? That said, you can book whale watching tours in November and if you’re lucky you might even catch a sighting.
As you may know, the waters surrounding Cabo San Lucas are a popular migratory and breeding ground for humpback whales. Please be sure to do so Book this whale watching boat tour in advance. Spaces sell out quickly during peak times, so you don’t want to be left high and bland with no options.

One of the things that makes the Cabo San Lucas area so special is its natural environment. If you’re in Cabo for a few days, be sure to spend some time inside Cabo Pulmo National Park.
Stretching along the coastline between Pulmo Point and Cape Los Frailes, Cabo Pulmo National Park is vast and cannot be completed in one day. That being said, you can also head to nearby spots during your trip.
This UNESCO World Heritage-listed coastline is home to a wealth of marine life and can be easily explored by car. Book this kayak and snorkeling tour From Cabo itself. That’s incredible, especially considering it’s one of only three living coral reefs you can visit in North America.
Spend approximately 9 hours on the tour, stop at a sea lion colony and 3 snorkeling spots, and enjoy the most luxurious drive from Cabo San Lucas. It’s worth it.

Todos Santos is about a 55-minute drive from Cabo, so plan your time wisely.I leave early in the morning and head straight to Playa La Cachora. The beaches are stunning and completely untouched. However, be sure to bring snacks, drinks, and sunscreen. The beach itself has few facilities.
Then move on to the next La Esquina Enjoy our delicious brunch menu. Their Mexican eggs (served with beans and avocado) are so delicious.
